Paul Fitterer named course director and instructor for Deep Creek Center

D Paul Fitterer eep Creek Center, an IT training and business consulting firm based in Highland, Maryland, today announced that Paul Fitterer, former CIO of Ingersoll-Rand, will join its faculty.

“Paul brings a special level of knowledge in strategic planning, sourcing strategy and the manufacturing space,” said Patrick von Schlag, president of Deep Creek.

“I am delighted to be part of the Deep Creek instructional team. This will provide new opportunities to work with customers both in greater Washington, DC, and New York,” said Fitterer.

“Paul’s leadership in training and consulting will help us continue to serve large customers looking to enhance their overall ITSM strategy,” said von Schlag.

Deep Creek Center anticipates a significant expansion in ITSM (information technology systems management) among manufacturing companies over the next few years, according to von Schlag.

“There is a great need for additional awareness on how to use ITSM strategically to support mission objectives,” said von Schlag. “We’re excited about Paul because he will help us expand our ability to support strategic ITSM. Too many people are doing ITSM with an operational view – Paul brings the bigger picture which our clients find refreshing, applicable and valuable.”

Ken Wendle, former president of ITSMF, joins Deep Creek Center

Ken_Wendle “Our bench just became a lot stronger,” said Patrick von Schlag, president of Deep Creek Center, referring to the recent addition of Ken Wendle to his organization’s faculty.

Deep Creek courted Wendle, who will serve as a course director and instructor for the Highland, Maryland-based IT training and business consulting firm, because of his record as an “industry luminary,” according to von Schlag.

“Ken will fit nicely with our existing faculty of leading ITIL experts,” said von Schlag.

Wendle co-founded and served as president emeritus of ITSMF USA (Information Technology Service Management Forum USA), the US chapter of ITSMF International, an independent professional organization and forum for IT service management professionals. He is credited with helping to launch an annual ITSMF national conference and expo, which was recognized in 2005 by BtoB Magazine as one of the top conferences to reach IT professionals. For this he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by ITSMF USA, its highest honor.

“I am excited to be part of the Deep Creek family,” said Wendle, who holds an ITIL® Manager Certificate and the distinction of being the first American to become a Fellow in the UK Institute of Service Management. “I spent my career working to demystify IT service management and help customers implement ITIL successfully. Through my partnership with Deep Creek I will have a chance to work with even more great companies trying to take advantage of ITIL practices.”

“We brought Ken on to meet increased demand for services. We wanted someone who had a demonstrated ability to make ITIL work,” said von Schlag.

Early industry reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.

“We rely on Deep Creek Center to support our growing clientele of organizations with world-class ITIL learning solutions. Adding Ken to their already strong faculty enhances their position as the leading provider of instructional support for ITIL,” said Rick Lemieux, vice president of services for ITSM Solutions.

“This is a good fit,” said Wendle.

Deep Creek Center launches industry’s most comprehensive ITIL learning program

Solution will alleviate access problems for ITIL Intermediate and Advanced training programs via rich media classes.

dep_16230571-Hot-key-for-learn Deep Creek Center, a leading provider of ITIL training, mentoring, and consulting services, announced the launch of a global initiative to combat limited access to the skills-based training needed to support industry ITIL initiatives. Deep Creek’s comprehensive ITIL certification programs will be made available in a live-over-the-Web format and will provide a guaranteed way for students looking to get high-quality expert-led training to get the training they need, regardless of location.

“The market has had a difficult time providing access to the Intermediate and Advanced ITIL learning programs that many organizations need to ensure the success of their ITIL adoption activities,” said Patrick von Schlag, president of Deep Creek Center. “Deep Creek has offered accredited private on-site and rich-media self-paced learning options for a number of years, and these options meet the needs of a number of customers. But for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as businesses located outside of major IT markets, access has been very limited. In addition, the needs to consolidate demand have resulted in very high class cancellation rates around the industry. Deep Creek is the first ITIL provider to commit to run all of its courses, and to provide the guarantee that customers need to commit money and time to training their staff in ITIL best practices.”

“Supporting the ITIL training space has been very challenging”, stated Andrew Wight, CEO of CompuWorks, a leading IT training provider in Boston, MA. “While there are many companies with broad needs to train their teams in ITIL Foundations, taking care of students with more sophisticated needs has created a supply/demand problem in many regions. Deep Creek’s instructor-led online live programs help to address this issue and help us meet the needs of our enterprise class customers who are serious about making ITIL work in their organizations.”

Deep Creek and its partner channels train millions of students annually in IT and IT management disciplines. Deep Creek Center is a leading provider of IT skills development, certification, and learning consulting services. We help organizations plan, build, and validate effective, integrated learning solutions that provide demonstrable, tangible business results.

Deep Creek’s Patrick von Schlag tapped for keynote address at MACNY conference

The Manufactures Association of Central New York invited Patrick von Schlag to give a keynote address at an industry conference the organization is sponsoring in Syracuse later this month.

“I’ve been asked to help launch IT service management training for the corporate college at Onondaga,” said von Schlag, president of Deep Creek Center, a Highland, Maryland-based IT training and business consulting firm.

Von Schlag’s talk, titled “ITIL Awareness,” will help launch a program to bring the principles of ITSM (information technology service management) to the local Syracuse business community, specifically manufacturers, according to a company spokesperson.

“The Central New York business community is heavily focused on leveraging best practices to compete successfully in today’s global market, said Betsy Vavonese, program coordinator for Onondaga. “The corporate college partners with local businesses and trade associations, such as MACNY, to bring world-class programs to new audiences.”

“Upstate New York has been home to market-leading companies for more than 100 years. It is the natural next step to adopt ITSM best practices to compete and win for the next 100 years,” said von Schlag.

The conference will be held on April 22 and attended by representatives from more than 30 manufacturing companies according to Vavonese. “If it goes well, there is a plan to expand the program to 400 more companies,” she said.

“Deep Creek Center is pleased to partner with associations like MACNY and educational institutions like Onondaga to help facilitate continued transformation of mature industries into innovative new markets,” said von Schlag.

Buzzquake Marketing

Deep Creek Center picks Buzzquake to support communications with customers

Slash-Buzzquake-Vector-w300 Deep Creek Center, an IT training and business consulting firm based in Highland, Maryland, today announced its selection of Buzzquake Marketing of Ellicott City, Maryland, for a multi-year marketing support contract focused on web design and communications.

“Deep Creek sought a world-class partner to support its communications with its customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders and to help us explain the benefits of our new, innovative blended learning solutions to the marketplace,” said Patrick von Schlag, president of Deep Creek.

“We were pleased to be selected for this work,” said Lynne D’Autrechy, president of Buzzquake.  “It is strategically important to align ourselves with an organization as esteemed as Deep Creek.”

The contract calls for an overhaul of Deep Creek’s website and improved integration of various communications channels, including an expansion of their social media presence. You should then also embrace the future of communication by obtaining a Whatsapp business number from Your Business Number – a proven strategy to improve customer relationships and grow your business.

“Deep Creek has an extremely compelling business proposition; job one for us is to give that proposition a stronger voice,” said D’Autrechy.

“Buzzquake’s proven abilities in web-based marketing, social media, and press relationship management made them an ideal choice for us,” said von Schlag.

Deep Creek is a recognized leader in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) training, which is arguably the most sought after curriculum in the corporate IT sector, both for its ability to help organizations improve efficiency and to enable dramatic improvements in quality and effectiveness of IT services to support business needs.

“ITIL is a set of practices for IT service management that focuses on aligning IT services with the needs of business and establishes a consistent framework that enables businesses to plan, implement, and improve performance,” said von Schlag.

The ITIL framework is owned by the United Kingdom’s Cabinet Office.

“Deep Creek has an exclusive agreement with multiple global training leaders to provide ITIL training via a blended delivery, combining the best of rich-medial e-learning with a day or two of intense classroom bootcamp-style review,” explained D’Autrechy. “Blended learning works better than either traditional classroom or e-learning solutions, and is a great combination of convenience and effectiveness.”

Empirical data support D’Autrechy’s assertions.  Certification exam pass rates for government and private-sector organizations were significantly higher when students completed a blended course, according to case studies published by APM Group, the official accreditor for the ITIL qualification scheme.

“Deep Creek recognizes that tomorrow’s learning solutions have to be multifaceted – targeted learning that minimizes time away from work, maximizes learner engagement and enjoyment, and delivers results for participants’ companies,” said von Schlag.  “Our programs move companies past talking and help them achieve specific benefits and drive cost savings and improved effectiveness through the use of frameworks like ITIL and COBIT and good practices in project management, business analysis and requirements gathering, and information security.”

“The strength of Deep Creek’s offerings combined with its dominant position in the marketplace will make our job a lot easier,” said D’Autrechy.  “But we can’t take anything for granted; we still have to execute.”
